The Community Service Volunteer role is designed for individuals who are completing court-mandated service hours. Volunteers will assist YMCA staff with general operational tasks, event support, and facility upkeep in a safe and supervised environment. This role focuses on providing meaningful service opportunities while ensuring accountability, structure, and alignment with YMCA values. Responsibilities • Assist with general facility support (cleaning, organizing, setup/teardown) • Support events and community programs as assigned • Help maintain cleanliness in shared spaces (lobby, wellness areas, classrooms as appropriate) • Assist with outdoor tasks (light landscaping, gardening, beautification projects) • Follow all instructions from YMCA staff and supervisors • Accurately track and report completed service hours

• Must complete Volunteer Matters registration • Must provide court documentation outlining required service hours • Must sign in and out for every shift to track hours • Must follow all YMCA policies, including safety and conduct guidelines • Must remain under staff supervision at all times

All volunteers must demonstrate: • Respectful behavior toward staff, members, and participants • Reliability and punctuality • Willingness to follow direction and complete assigned tasks Failure to meet expectations may result in dismissal from the program.
• A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a shift • Cancellations must be submitted through Volunteer Matters or directly to the YMCA staff contact • Repeated late cancellations may result in limited scheduling opportunities
